SisuBloom Online Safeguarding Code of Conduct

SisuBloom sessions take place live online. To keep every child safe and every session positive, we ask families to follow these guidelines.

Cameras and identity

Children join with their camera on for the full session and their registered name displayed, so our facilitators can verify who is attending. Only registered children may take part. Sessions are never recorded by SisuBloom, and we ask that families do not record, screenshot, or photograph sessions either, as other children are present.

The session environment

Children should join from a shared or open space in the home, such as a living room or kitchen, rather than a bedroom where possible. A parent or trusted adult should be present in the home and contactable throughout. Children should be presentable and ready to take part, and backgrounds should be tidy and free of personal information.

During sessions

We ask children to keep their camera on, stay muted when not speaking, use the hand-raise feature or wait their turn, and stay in their seat for the session. Kind and respectful language is expected at all times; swearing, name-calling, or unkind behaviour towards others is not acceptable.

Disruptive behaviour

If a child is repeatedly disruptive, the facilitator will give a gentle reminder first. If the behaviour continues, the child may be removed from that session and the parent will be contacted the same day. Repeated disruption across sessions may lead to a conversation about whether the programme remains the right fit; our aim is always to work with families to keep children engaged.

Facilitator conduct

Facilitators will never contact a child privately outside of scheduled sessions, and all communication from SisuBloom goes through parents. Please do not share session links outside your family.

Raising a concern

If you or your child are ever worried about anything seen or heard in a session, or about anyone's conduct, contact us at safeguarding@sisubloom.org and we will respond within one working day. If a facilitator has a concern about a child's wellbeing, we will contact the parent, and where necessary we will follow our duty to refer concerns to the appropriate child protection services in the family's country of residence. If you believe a child is in immediate danger, call the emergency services number for your country of residence.
